Events at the Ranch
The ranch is a special place and we love to share it with others. The best thing about bring people out to the ranch is that we get to see our own beloved ranch in an entirely new perspective.
Cruise through our calendar to the right to register for any of these awesome events.
Movie night on Memorial Day: May 27-29th
Ever watch a movie in the fields during the spring? The grass is green and fragrant and the nights are still nice and crisp. Come visit the ranch and experience the magic of an outdoor theater.
Details:
Sleeping: For the most part, plan to camp out on our lawn. We do have some rooms available if you need one. If you camp on the lawn, you will have free access to bathrooms and kitchens. If you want to camp a little farther away from the headquarters, you are on your own.
Food and Events:Check out this interactive Google doc I created. You will see how the meals will happen and what we are doing when. It ain't pretty as I would like, but it gets the job done.
Attendance: Limited to the first 25 who sign up.
Cost: $25/adults. Kids are free
Forage Walk: June 25th
This is the most important day of our yearly range management practices. June is when our grass stops growing and we can measure how much feed we have until next spring. To measure how much feed we have, we spend the day visiting each pasture on the ranch and assessing forage density and quality. In other words, we go out and pretend to be a cow and figure out how much area it would take to feed her for a day. If you have any interested in range land management, you won't want to miss this day.
Details:
Attendance: Limited to the first 25 who sign up.
Cost: Free but donations are nice
Meals: Bring your own lunch but we will provide cold drinks and some snacks.
Harvest Festival/Meteor Shower : October 21-22nd
Summer at the ranch is hot, and busy so by the time October rolls around, we are very appreciative of the cool nights and slower days of October. It is a great time of year to celebrate the bounty of the past season, hence the "Harvest Fest." Also, there is a meteor shower happening that weekend hence the "Meteor Shower." Since both of the events are kinda of special, we are going to go all out for the event. We still have months to determine all of the fun things that will happen, but rest assured, good food, meteor viewing, and a whole bunch more will happen.
Details: very vague right now
